We handle only civil law matters, such as foreclosure prevention, landlord-tenant issues, family law, public benefits, consumer issues including identity theft and bankruptcy, veterans’ rights, domestic abuse, sexual abuse and assault, and post-disaster assistance.
Once you submit an interest form, one of our volunteer coordinators will reach out to you for next steps. There is about one legal aid lawyer for every 7,000 Texans who qualify for services, so we are always in need of more volunteers to provide counsel or representation. We also welcome paralegals, students, and interested community members who want to help at outreach events or legal clinics.
