While Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas is funded primarily by the Legal Services Corporation, we rely on supporters who help fund our efforts to provide equitable access to justice. When you donate to LANWT, your funds support:
Disaster Relief
Any urgent needs, such as disaster relief, or other priorities based on client needs
Advocacy
A specific campaign such as the Women’s Advocacy Awards, which supports legal services for women and their children
Staff Support
Our attorneys, paralegals, social workers, and support staff who are committing their time to ensuring equal access to justice
Why I Give: Donor Spotlight
For Julie Ungerman, managing counsel at Toyota North America, giving back is a critical part of her life. Since joining Toyota, Julie has participated in a legal clinic to serve veterans, as well as in wills-focused clinics for first responders. She also serves on the Community Services Fund Board, which supports the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program, a joint collaboration between Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas and the Dallas Bar Association. “It’s important to give back,” says Julie. “Growing up in a Jewish household, we learned tzedakah (the Jewish term for doing what’s right). It’s important to help others who need it.”
