Statewide Expunction Project

Project Overview

The Statewide Expunction Project (SEP) addresses the lasting effects of criminal records on individuals and society at large. The project is dedicated to helping people clear eligible criminal records through expunctions and/or nondisclosures, which helps remove barriers to employment, housing, educational opportunities, and professional licensing. If you wish to apply, please call the Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas SEP line at 888-676-6176.

The SEP is a collaborative effort among legal aid organizations in Texas. Member organizations and their staff are dedicated to educating the communities they serve through targeted outreach, educational workshops, and legal clinics. They also offer training and resources to volunteer attorneys and partner organizations.
